I really emjoyed this, very different from the Out of Uniform series - I guess that's why some authors use different pen names.
The story follows a well-known trope, female undercover operative, scarred by early life experiences is closed off to love and friendships with others. A daring team of ex-special forces operatives are roped in and battle a psychopath and a group of child slavers.
The actual story worked very well, quite graphic and fast-paced, the female lead was tough and hard-hitting throughout, the guys didn't patronise her etc.
My biggest issue was with the speed of the sexual relationship between the two characters. Given her past history I don't believe anyone would behave the way he did or respond the way she did (deliberately vague) and I found it so much less believable as a consequence.
Already started the second book ...
